I got some good photos of a coyote and American badger hunting cooperatively at Valles Caldera National preserve in New Mexico. I posted them under Coyote but am wondering if there is a way to post it with both animals listed.
The best practice is to post two separate observations, with one for each species. An iNaturalist observation is meant to be a record of your interaction with one species.
For each observation, please include a link to the associated (other) observation.
There are also observation fields and projects that others might suggest, that can help with documenting this type of behaviour.
Definitely post this observation twice. You can duplicate what you’ve already posted to accomplish this, or post the photos again. Label one copy for the coyote and one for the badger. Maybe explain what you’ve found so people understand it. Cool observation!
Welcome to the forum. You can easily duplicate an observation renaming the copied version to match the second species. In the top right hand corner (assuming your page layout is the same as mine) there is an ‘edit’ button. Just click the downward arrow to the right of the button and go from there. It’s easy. When you’ve done that you can scroll down to ‘Observation Fields’ and select ‘Linked Observation’, this will allow you to put in a hyperlink from one observation to the other. Good luck.
