Great idea! Maybe June 26 could become…
‘Moth-er’s Day’?
Since I’m still relatively ‘shiny in new’ (at least in iNat terms) my moth obs are sadly limited. In fact, here they are. Just two! But to join in the fun…
That one, you know…
And this lucky recent find I would put somewhere between ‘large friend’ and ‘stuffed toy’:

Wow. It’s like evolution took a much needed summer vacation and they put in an intern – HR Giger.

A lot of the Prominents are “stuffed toy” material. They’re one of my favorite families!

Welcome to iNat! I’m sure you’ll find more moths in no time. If you have a porch with a light source, just check around it a few times every night and you’ll find plenty! Congrats on the large friend by the way, she’s gorgeous. Finding a Cecropia is definitely on my bucket list.

Little White Lichen here, meet my large friend Tuliptree Silkworm
that large glass eyed monster that hunts here rarely appreciates me
we are not sure that it is a Battaristis but we will call it n.sp Battaristis for now

even the stuffing has stuffing

I chose a different green, my first green moth and favorite
Thanks for the opportunity to share! More than a decade and thousands of moths later, it is enjoyable to humbly recount the journey in human terms.

That’s a good choice for a favorite green! Looks like he/she could pass for a stuffed toy as well! All wonderful moths here :)

Haha, yeah. When someone identified the moth for me I immediately looked at its species page and saw the unusual caterpillar xD I think it would be pretty cool to see it in real life.

I’ve completed the sweep of sun moth genera, Heliodinidae, in my New Mexico pollinator garden. Since we’re sharing moths …
Shiniest Aetole tripunctella (Brilliant Sunspur)
Shiny Lithariapteryx abroniaeella (Sand Verbena Lithariapteryx)
Blurry Embola albaciliella (tentative)
Blobby Genus Neoheliodines

That’s exactly what I say to myself whenever a green Moth visits the porch light- “ooh, green!”

An addition, “the smallest dissapointment”, when you expected it to be huge, but it ended up being small:
