Unable to commit taxon changes

Description of problem:

I’ve been slowly making my way through a number of taxon changes to Australian Tree Frogs over the past few days and today I have found that I am suddenly unable to commit any further changes.

When attempting to commit the change, as in for example the link above, it loads for a moment:

and then takes me to an error page:

Pressing back takes me back to the ‘loading’ screen:

And reloading the page shows that the taxon swap has not been committed. The link given is just an example; it happens with every taxon change that I try to do. I’m really not certain what is wrong - one minute everything was working as it should be and then the next it bugs out. This first happened a few hours ago and has not changed since then. Hopefully someone can help!

I tried to commit that one, failed for me too

Oh strange. Are you able to commit any others? I’ve tried about four and all of them fail

Well it all seems to be resolved now but I’m not sure what the issue was

the situation was that genus Pelodryas had tank species so swaps that were trying to turn inactive species descending from that species were failing because active sp can’t descend from sp - we should add a more informative error alert

Thanks, it seems I should have tried to commit something that didn’t involve Pelodryas!
