Is there a place to find a list of known species that have not yet been observed on Inaturalist? It would be great to know what to look out for if you ever entered those unobserved species’ ranges.

There isn’t an existing list. I imagine you could probably use the API to get a list of taxa with 0 observations.
For some “complete” clades - mostly vertebrates - you can go to the taxon page (eg Mammals), click on Trends and go down to Wanted to see some taxa that are known to exist but have no iNat observations.

Based on the names, it appears that observers in North America and Western Europe are out of luck.

Why are there three names per species in the screenshot - English, German and scientific? Is there a setting for this?
