Description of problem:
Step 1: I notified the observer that they were missing a date.
Step 2: They report updating the date.
Step 3: I still see no observation date and the observation is casual.
I’ve seen this before. I have interacted with some users to see if they can look at it again, but that hasn’t been successful. I’m not sure if it is a syncing issue on the user’s end or a bug.

I don’t know if it’s possible to diagnosis this without input from the person who is trying to add the date. Some user error (maybe forgetting to save) seems most likely. If they can add screenshots or something to the bug report showing what they do and what message they get after doing it, that might help and confirm that this is a bug.
Hi, I’m the user this report is about! I used the android app (version 1.36.8 (628)) to add and edit this observation. At first, it was missing a date because the photo lacked metadata. After I added the date after @whitneybrook ‘s comment, it did show the date on my end. When I looked right after they filed this bug report, the date I added was visible in the app. After I selected “edit observation” twice, the date was missing in the edit screen and I was able to add it again. This time, I went back to “My observations” in the app and made sure that the app said the observation was uploaded to the site.
If this happens again I’ll get some screenshots to add here!

Thanks for talking a look at this and provide a solution. I’ll be able to point other users to this post in the future.
