A bumblebee! I don’t see them a lot, even though I otherwise see lots of various bees and wasps.
Spotted Pink Lady Beetle. I have surprisingly few lady beetles on my life list.

As someone who comes from a state with no lizards and sees the same plants everywhere, this was a nice break. Although nearly everything I came across was a lifer, these were my favorites.
It almost feels weird seeing observations of Trachemys scripta without the “Introduced” icon! Although I suppose the southern US has its own fair share of invasive reptiles from the pet trade.
Right? They’re invasive almost everywhere, including my home state of Rhode Island. It’s nice to see them in their original native range though.
How many lifers would I get if I left South Carolina and Inatted in South Dakota; Badlands, Custer SP, Scotts Bluff? Anyone have some guesses? I estimate around 400.
On Sunday I was snorkelling again. And this small stretch of stone dyke still holds more lifers for me. My first bristle worm, so even a lifer class :-)

It depends on what taxonomic groups you pay attention to. If you paid attention to everything, if you were there for at least a week, and if the weather cooperated, you could probably see a lot more than 400 lifers.
I’m guessing that pretty much everything you’ll see there will be a lifer!
