Last year, I collected a shell of Babylonia zeylanica in India (here is another individual of the same species I saw nearby, although not the one I collected). Today, I noticed an encrusting bryzoan on the shell I collected, and I decided to make an observation for it. As is proper practice, I gave the original locality. However, do I need to also list the date it was collected, or just the date I first observed it (today)?
I think the date it was collected. That was the date it occurred in the locality you have given.
