I don’t know whether the observer is notified when the “Evidence of a Single Organism” box is marked “no,” which makes me reluctant to check the box unless the observer has not been active for quite a while. Does the observer get a notification?
No they will not get a notification. Observers are not notified about votes on any of the DQA lines. Staff have long been aware that users would prefer a notification, but like all requests related to notifications, changes have been very slow.
You can always leave a comment (I’m checking X – please let me know when you fix it and I’ll uncheck) that they should see if they check their notifications occasionally.
Notifications would make it easier on identifiers also.
Thank you all for the quick responses.
no but if you search your own, or any users observations with the url modifier &order_by=updated_at changes to dqa will bring observations further up the ordering

I personally try to put a “It looks like you have multiple observations. I’m going to mark the multiple subjects, please tag me when you have fixed this or have questions” as a comment so that if I’m wrong and they added a host picture or a scene picture that I thought was a separate obs they can correct me.
Also other IDers, and so that the OP knows.
Because of the notification issue, and often as a prompt to an observer - who may already have been asked once or twice - I leave a comment. That also notifies me of any activity where I applied a DQA. Also for the ‘Can Be Improved’ hidden away right at the bottom. The comment is more immediately visible to the next identifier - why is this obs STILL waiting ?
