Where do you contest native or introduced status on a checklist?

Hi folks, I am keeping my eye on several species that appear to be incorrectly labeled “native” or “introduced” on various checklists.

Commenting on the relevant checklist does not seem to generate any attention that would lead to the issue being fixed:

Flags also don’t seem to get the job done:

Additionally, flagging the taxon doesn’t seem right because there’s nothing wrong with the taxon, it’s the checklist for its status in various locations that is the problem; so even if flags worked that would appear to be a misuse of the system.

What is the best process for resolving incorrect Establishment Means on checklists?

Also I would be curious if there are good sources to cite when debating establishment means.

If it requires a discussion, personally, I would use a flag and tag people who may have knowledge about it in the comments (e.g. top identifiers or observers, or an expert if you know one). Almost no one sees listed taxon / checklist pages. I think only people who have commented on a listed taxon get any notifications. (I see very few in my list of subscriptions and I’ve edited many)

Then, in the taxon’s checklist page, I would add a link to the flag.

There are currently around 7,000 unresolved flags on taxa so finding a resolution is not always speedy.

You can change it yourself here. If anyone has strong opinions on it, I’m sure they’ll notice and that’ll draw attention to any comments you left.
