Why do identification leaderboards vary?

Apologies if this is obvious or has been asked before, but I can’t help but notice that the leaderboards oftentimes vary. For example:

So does @oceanicadventures have 172 , 174, or 179 IDs? Do I have 2, or 79?

I’ve noticed that the “Top Identifiers” section in observation updates live, and the leaderboard on the taxon page updates less frequently. That would explain the different between 2 and 79. But that doesn’t explain why they can show 3 separate values.

Sometimes the difference between values can be more than 100 IDs, too.

How and why does this happen?

That’s interesting. I wonder why they are all displayed in different ways. I think it would make more sense to have only one. Or, have all 3 but explain what they mean. For example, a Live section, one that updates daily, one that includes withdrawn IDs, etc.
