Year in Review: "People I've helped" capped at 40k

Hi!

Thank you so much for making the Year in Review available to all users. I love to see the compilation of photos, be able to interact with my species observed, and watch the replay of where I went to make observations this year. It’s also been fun to go back and compare to previous years.

This year, as in past years, it says that I have helped exactly 40,000 people. While that might be an amazing coincidence, I think that maybe that number was set as an upper limit? Is there a way to increase that value so I can see how many people I really helped with identifications?

I appreciate it- and thank you again!

until a system change is made, you can see the count via the API. this says you’ve made identifications for 51237 observers (from total_results) so far in 2025 as of this morning: https://api.inaturalist.org/v1/identifications/observers?per_page=1&user_id=mmmmbugs&d1=2025-01-01&d2=2025-12-31T23:59:59.999

Mine has been capped at the same number! I’m glad to see it isn’t just me!

I filed a bug report, but this may not be fixed for this year’s year in review.

Sounds great- thank you!

This should be fixed. Can you please regenerate your stats @mmmmbugs?

I just redid mine and it was fixed!

for what it’s worth, it looks like the way this was addressed was to basically double the upper limit. however, that still isn’t high enough for some of the top identifiers out there.
