I found this Augochlorine Sweat Bee in a meadow at a local park. it’s probably Augochlora pura, but I’m not sure.
These are beautiful, phoebes are so gregarious. The third image where the light is filtering through its eye is my favorite, I think

Delightful grump
This is my baby, Sarin. She’s a juvenile mainland reticulated python, and just over 7’ (2.1 meters) long. I had to bring her to the vet for another pair of hands today. She’s getting antibiotic injections every other day, and trying to position her and have her hold still for the injection by myself was pretty much impossible. We stopped at work on the way home and I let her roam free in my office.
“Hey, what is this place? I’ve never been here before.”
“Hey Dad, can I go out and play? Don’t make fun of my head; I’m going to shed soon.”
“Dude, check this out! I scaled your five-shelf bookcase AND the junk you have on top of it! This place is way better than home! Try and get me down; I dare you!!”
“I really hope one of your employees walks into your office right now. They’re so gunna freak out!!”
I wish I could have taken pics of the fight we had trying to get her back in the tub. She’s already a lot stronger than I am. I ended her outing when she slithered onto my desk and starting knocking stuff off and weaving her way through the computer cables. She wrapped my telephone, tape dispenser, a couple of computer cables, and folded herself onto the edge of the desk and clamped down. It was a battle, but I finally won.
Phrynosoma are truly grumpitude incarnate.
This juvenile jumper absolutely stole my heart, it’s so cute! It was smaller than the tip of my pinky nail.
I dunno if this one is my best photo, but Eastern Tailed-Blues (AKA what I call "Annoying blue-gray grass-butterflies) are very frustrating to photograph and out of my three Tailed-Blue photos this is likely my best:
Update: someone Identified it as Augochlorella aurata.
