Add only ONE previous observation into a project

Hello, I created my first project today (Website on PC). I wanted to import some of my observations fitting the requirements of the project but when I clicked on “add to a project” and select mine, ALL of my observations went into the project. Do you know how to select and remove multiple observations from this project and not deleting my observation in the process (just removing the affiliation with the project)

It sounds like the settings you created need to be tweaked. The simplest way to get suggestions would be to name the project so we can look at it. Good for you for creating the project!

which are?

If your requirements cannot be captured in filters, you can make a Traditional project, then add each obs that does fit. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/fynbos-rambles-on-the-cape-peninsula

I only chose “Insecta” for now but the goal of this project is to gather all of our reaserch project samplings for my colleague and I. We used “SPIPOLL” protocol from the natural hystory museum of Paris but the website that hosts the sampling is currently under ransomware attack for an unlimited period of time. This INaturalist project would be some type of backup to visualize our sampling.

In the Project Requirementes All taxa is selected:

This means all observations from the users are going to be included. You’ll only need a small tweak: change All taxa for Insects. Let me know if you need any help with that!

Best,

Your project says - ALL taxa - for 3 users.

If you want Insecta - you need to change that.

But if you wanted to add only 1 particular obs, you need a Traditional Project not a collection project (which is simply an elegant way to present a set of filters - any obs from these 3 iNatters - as you set it up)

Thank you, a traditionnal project is exactly what we need ! I will do my research to know how to create one.

The link is tucked away right at the bottom of the ‘project’ page.

Thank you for giving the link. iNaturalist has two types of projects. “Collection” projects will automatically include every observation that fits the stated filter criteria. It looks like you have set yours up as a collection project. Right now it automatically includes every observation for all taxa for three named users. If you change “all taxa” to “Insecta,” it will automatically include every insect observation for the three users. That’s the way a “Collection” project works. If instead of automatic filters you want to choose each observation to include, you will need the other kind of project, a “Traditional” project. You’ll need to start over, but choose “Traditional” and I think that will work for you.
