Please fill out the following sections to the best of your ability, it will help us investigate bugs if we have this information at the outset. Screenshots are especially helpful, so please provide those if you can.
Platform (Android, iOS, Website): MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1
App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About): N/A
Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Safari 17.6
URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: N/A
Screenshots of what you are seeing (instructions for taking a screenshot on computers and mobile devices: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/):
Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):
Step 1: Once in iNaturalist.org, search for either Oregon Coast or Greater Lane County Oregon (or any group).
Step 2: Choose Grid view
Step 3: Scroll through and notice periodic duplicate listings (however, they have the same observation ID number so are not true duplicates). This is not consistent. I cannot seem to create it, but I am seeing it periodically. For example, this duplicate shown in photo was found searching Greater Lane County Oregon and a new search of that area no longer shows it as a duplicate.
NOTES: I first noticed this happening a week or two ago and it has persisted. Today I noticed one that happened to be a duplicate of my own posted observation (see circled items in attached photo) and I have confirmed that I did not upload a duplicate. I have seen this with other people’s observations recently…just randomly and I believe all have appeared at the end of a row as shown here (i.e., one at the end of a row and a duplicate at the beginning of the next row).
