Find me at dariusmullin.bsky.social! Thanks for putting this together!
I’ve looked for a list/hashtag/etc for iNat there, and love that you’re doing this. I hope you’re talking about it there, too. I’m @cathdicentra.bsky.social - post mostly with decent iNat photos, and about chronic illness.
Here’s mine: @tc-riley.bsky.social
I don’t really do much on Bluesky, but who knows, I may post a beetle every now and then.
what a nice idea!
I’m @spidercat.io :)
it’s a personal account, and I can be a bit irreverent with memes and posting (nothing gross or reactionary though). but there are also bugs and spoods. always bugs and spoods!
I haven’t posted any content (yet), but here is my profile: https://bsky.app/profile/carterdorscht.bsky.social
I would love to join! I’m at https://bsky.app/profile/dixiedraws.bsky.social - as my username suggests, I post artwork, but also my animal photography :)

Just a thought - for those of us in the US, if you’re posting a nature photo taken in government administered land - especially national - it might be worth something (even though, perhaps, a tiny something) to mention the land and any administering body and/or provide links to those official web pages.
I don’t know. I just wonder if we bring it to more people’s attention just how much natural land there is and how much wildlife it supports, perhaps we can at least raise more awareness to the value of this land as natural habitat.
Examples: State/National Parks, State/National Forests, National Grasslands, National Wildlife Refuges, National Monuments, National Wild and Scenic Rivers, US Fish and Wildlife, National Wilderness Areas.
I don’t really want to start a discussion on the politics of this. Especially in this thread. I only want to to offer the idea that the PLACE in which we see a wild things may be just as important and impactful as the wild thing itself. And adding that info may be of some value.
There is a character limit on Bluesky so it will be a dance around what info one wants to include.
The information can be included in the Alt text for the photos.
Also, a plea to fill out the alt text with a brief description of the photo - it’s a great help for vision impaired people, helps them participate in Bluesky.
yes, I have been doing Alt Text - it also occurred to me that I could reply to my own post with more info on the location.
I personally don’t want the location boost to be ‘hidden’ text. I don’t know how many people check the Alt Text or notice it if they click on the image. But the Alt Text does not count against the character count for the post.
Yeah, replying to your own text sounds better.
I’m happy to hear that you’re doing alt text - the more of us the better!
