Sometime around noon eastern time today, Canada has passed Mexico for having the 2nd most verifiable observations submitted to the site.
Of course Canada as was noted in the Round the World Blog post has perhaps the most extreme seasonal pattern to when iNat observations are submitted (seriously you non Canadians, have you been outside in a Canadian winter ???), so we are in peak submission time. As a result of some outreach done on Canada’s two main TV networks, the site use in Canada has also spiked in the last week or so.
As I write this Canada is now sitting at 1,465,000 verifiable records submitted.
