Cannot format link as [text](URL)

I cannot insert this:

project [Unknown / Plantae](https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/unknown-plantae)

in this message:

https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/id-a-thon-unofficial-guide/73649/78

When I click on the “Save” button:

I get this error message: The URL or the ressource requested was not found.

(and the preview in edit mode is annoying, I expect to edit the “source” (as before), including the links, not to see a rectangle labelled as 'iNaturalist’).

If I copy/paste the formated link [Text](URL) then I get this after publication of the message:

Maybe try Unknown Plantae without the forward slash? That might be confusing the code…?

Tried that and I get an error on the preview but it works on posting it.

Unknown Plantae

You can toggle between the rich text and markdown editors using the switch in the upper left of the edit window (the one that looks like [M↓ | A]).

Typing (or pasting) a link in markdown format in the rich text editor is giving me the correct result in the preview, but i haven’t tried posting it [edit: it looks ok on my end after posting]. If posting it results in [Unknown / Plantae](https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/unknown-plantae) instead of Unknown / Plantae on your end, though, try switching to the markdown editor—maybe it automatically inserted backslashes before the brackets (and angle brackets around the link)?

(Not sure why those big onebox rectangles are showing up in your first screenshot [i thought those were disabled here?], or why the forward slash between Unknown and Plantae disappeared—it shouldn’t be interfering with any markdown formatting—but if you want to be extra safe you could precede it with a backslash, i.e., [Unknown \/ Plantae](https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/unknown-plantae))

Thank you very much for your help.
