Curator contact?

Dear all,
I’ve a couple of questions regarding some taxa of neotropical plants I’d like to ask a curator. How does one find a curator who is interested in certain (plant) families? The iNat People/Curators page is not especially helpful in that respect, and to tag someone (as recommended in the FAQ and in several form posts), you need a username, as far as I can see?

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask!
Cheers, Ulf

welcome to the forum

the best thing to do is, for each case, to flag the parent taxon and start a discussion there. You do this by going to the profile for the taxon, and clicking curation → flag for curation under the seasonality chart

all curators will then be able to see the flag(s) and respond

OK! Have done that now, many thanks!

Since curators are not automatically notified of taxon flags, you might also want to take the extra step of looking through the top identifiers for the family(ies) of interest, looking at their profiles, seeing which ones are labeled as curators, and specifically tagging those folks in a comment on your flag. It’s little more involved process, but might get faster and more targeted results.

For example, here are the top identifiers for Family Proteaceae:

Just substitute whichever family is of interest using the filter box.

but not until after CNC IDs are done. 4 May. Back to my protea backlog then.
