Discrepancy between number of GBIF observations on iNaturalist's user "Year in Review" page; versus number in hyperlinked page i.e. Observations page of that user & year ( i.e. with &verifiable=any&outlink_source=GBIF ); even after "Regenerate Stats"

Platform: iNaturalist Website

App version number, if a mobile app issue: /

Browser, if a website issue: Across all browsers

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: Compare https://www.inaturalist.org/stats/2026/vincent_mia_edie_verheyen (note the text “GBIF: 11 observations”) versus where the text “11 observations” link to, i.e. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&verifiable=any&user_id=1084354&outlink_source=GBIF&year=2026 (note: 232 observations).

Description of problem:

Thhe “Year in Review” (a.k.a. stats) page shows 11 observations for GBIF (“Broader Impacts” tab), but it provides a link which returns 232 results even though the stats have been regenerated recently.

For the original discussion that led to this bug report, see Why do many of my RG observations not end up in GBIF (as per the iNaturalist “Year In Review” page stats)?; posted on this forum under the category “General”).

Hi @jwidness is there any update?

P.S. @jwidness : Also, not related to GBIF, but also the number at https://www.inaturalist.org/stats/2026/vincent_mia_edie_verheyen#helpers seems off compared to https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?d1=2026-01-01&d2=2026-05-12&subview=table&user_id=vincent_mia_edie_verheyen&verifiable=any&view=identifiers or https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?created_d1=2026-01-01&created_d2=2026-05-12&subview=table&user_id=vincent_mia_edie_verheyen&verifiable=any&view=identifiers

Kind regards,
Vincent Verheyen

Sorry, I don’t have any additional information about how the development team chooses which bugs to address.
Personally, I would guess this is low on the list – it affects only a small part of the site, plus the Year in Review page is usually worked on toward the end of the year.
