Description of problem
In the past, I updated and uploaded the plant lists for Arches and Canyonlands National Parks as iNat Checklists.

When I use the “Compare” tool on any observation ID, the displayed lists show duplicates of most of the options. This is not a new issue–somehow the list added the taxons twice.

Step 1: Open this observation as an example, though any will work.

Step 2: Select the “Compare” tool beside any identification.

Step 3: Set the search parameters to…

  • Source: Checklist
  • Taxon: Family Boraginaceae
  • Place: Canyonlands National Park, US, UT, or Arches National Park, US, UT

Similar duplication happens when looking at checklists in compare tool for Taiwan. Taxa are listed twice (for Taiwan (Province) and Taiwan (Country)). I’m sure there are other examples too. Perhaps there (just!) needs to be a remove duplicates step before displaying the taxa which sounds simple but who knows!

Seems to be the same bug as reported here: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/same-species-appears-twice-in-place-checklist/234

Ah, thanks. I won’t hold my breath that there’s a solution coming, I guess.
