Description of problem: During search, when “Verifiable” is ticked, the specimens that are not “Organism is wild” are not selected

Step 1: Search, for example, Flame Tree, location “Western Australia, Australia”. There are 4 results

Step 2: Go to Filters, untick “Verifiable”, click “refresh”. There are 35 observations.

Step 3: Many observations are of high quality and verifiable, but not wild. (for example https://inaturalist.nz/observations/132861081 ) This is misleading behaviour. It hides high quality observations from search by default (for example introucesd urban trees)

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

This is not a bug, but a (perhaps confusing) design feature: If (on the website) in the filters dropdown you hover over “Verifiable” you can see its definition: “Eligible for Research Grade”. Captive or cultivated organisms are not eligible for research grade, and thus not “verifiable.” This label seems to be just shorthand for the “Research Grade” and “Needs ID” checkboxes. It is contradictory to the common English usage of “verifiable,” which confused me a lot when I first started with iNat.
