Does anyone know how long approximately for black swallowtail caterpillar, after it positions itself and hangs from its sling - how many hours pass until it finally molts its skin and turns into a pupa?
About a day if it’s warm. Two or more if it’s cold. Not really a question anyone can answer without knowing your precise conditions. Just wait and see.

Thanks, it’s indoors at the moment, so room temperature. Sounds like it’s similar to monarch.
Ok so it didn’t happen while I was sleeping luckily, this is the timing (new york time zone)

So just over 24 hours (around 27 hours)
I think it would be also important to note weather conditions and temperature, etc.
