How to remove updates once read?

Website, Chrome

I am building up a huge list of Updates on my homepage Home tab/All updates. I click on an update and read it but it remains.

Thanks for replying. But can I delete any or all of the Updates myself?

no, you cannot delete them

Imagine. If we could Mark as Read. Or Keep Unread.

It would REALLY help me if I could easily remove notifications as I read them. When I’m traveling or busy and don’t keep up with them for a few days, I can get 600 or more stacked up, waiting. (That count apparently not including the observations from people I am following.) Trouble is, there’s no good* way to work through them a few at a time without having to scroll through them all to get to where I was – made worse because the older notifications don’t seem to be in a firm, defined order, so they slip around. (I can’t find one notification that I’ve dealt with and know I reached the end of the new ones, because usually I haven’t.) That means I have to put some sustained time into doing all at once. It’s draining.

  • I often do scroll through 20 or more pages and start there, then start from the beginning the next day. However, because I don’t know how many pages are waiting after that 20 or so pages, I can still find myself committed for hours of scrolling.
