It’s not suggesting unknown, it’s Genus Unkown, imported from EOL last year. The EOL listing is presumably in error – GBIF had the genus at one point and deleted it a year ago.

The spelling, right? Sometimes people seem to type it in. I find it when I am trying to reduce the Unknown and State of matter Life project down to one species, State of matter Life. I have to go in often to exclude ungrafted species every few days. Then at some point I try to go in and reduce my exclusion as some are now grafted in.
I can confirm that the Android app will let you choose the inactive Genus Unkown when you upload an observation.
Since this genus is not trained in the CV, I’m not really sure how it could have gotten labelled as a CV identification – i.e. did the CV somehow suggest it erroneously or did the user type it in and the CV label is wrong?
