How Taxon Suggestion works?

We conducted an taxon swap on May 7, 2024, and Tetrapygus and Tetrapgys niger were inactived. But then, when using the Taxon suggestion, Tetrapygus niger appeared on the list. When selecting that taxon, the species shown a Inactive Taxon in red , to rapidly change to the current name, which is Arbacia nigra.

is my first time seeing this behaviour in the Taxon suggestion tool, is that correct? Did I found a (minor) bug?

I’m not sure if it’s a bug, but I am guessing that those taxa were previously included in the CV. The CV won’t incorporate those changes until the next model update, so it would still suggest inactive taxa.

I agree that this isn’t ideal. I suppose it could be possible to have the CV result checked against inactive taxa and just remove any suggestions that are inactive at the time or have some rule like only suggesting the closest ancestor that is active.
