Description of problem: After my observation is synced and uploaded, it sometimes duplicates some of my photos.
As it happened several times, I know that when I delete the duplicate of that photo it also deletes the original.
Ive also been having a very similar problem lately but uploading using the website not the app. When I upload an observation from my android phone often every photo other than the first one is duplicated. However for me deleting the duplicate doesn’t delete the original
I just saw the same thing, but under a different circumstance: I used the website to duplicate an existing observation and add a new picture. Then I reordered the pictures so that the new one is first and the original is second. Then I used the app to edit that observation and add a third picture. When I opened it (before adding the third picture), I noticed that the now-second (original) picture showed as doubled.
I’m trying out he new “Me too” button, because it’s happening to me, too. Manageable with the occasional observation uploaded by phone, but annoying extra work nonetheless.
It happens intermittently. I think I noticed it more with multiple images. I just tried and this time it didn’t happen. When it does happen, i seem to recall that force quitting the app helps.
This is on a pixel 9 with version 1.38.2 (646). I’ll keep an eye on it and pay attention to the details.
If you can please send log files after it happens, that would be great. To send log files, go to the About tab in the iNaturalist app and tap three times on the version number. You will then have the option to email the log files to us.
