since 3-4 weeks enlarging photos in iNat (e.g. when identifying) is running much slower than it used to. I have tried on two different comupters, and it is the same - sometimes I wait for large photo to upload 20-30 sec (and before that it was uploading almost immediately.
This is quite annoying, because going identification takes much more time now.
Am I the only one to encounter this problem, or is it something general?

This has been happening to me for quite a while. The observation I want to ID takes longer to load. I also find that when I go back to the home page, it always takes me to the top, not where I was.

There are some other threads mentioning slow download of images stored on Amazon AWS for users in Germany who use t-online. Could be a related issue, but currently the speed is acceptable here.
I agree. I often need to expand an image to see the detail before providing an identification, and the web page often stalls at that point. I do a lot of identifications and don’t have time to wait for the larger image to open, and so I skip to the next ident. Potential identifications are being lost. It’s been happening for a while but seem to have become consistently bad in recent weeks.
I notice this happening from time to time, but not consistently. Is it consistently happening for you all, or only at certain times? If the latter, which time of day (and which time zone are you in)?
