Interested in improve iNaturalist UI design app

Hello, I’ve been using iNaturalist android app few months and I think there’s something that can be improved more in the user interface/ UI design, I’m interested in doing a volunteering project to redesign iNaturalist UI/UX design part to make it better, I can do design in Figma and other mobile UI or UX skills. Can I participate and how to get started?
