iOS -- Photos no longer sync metadata to observation

When uploading photos now, taken with the phone, the observation takes the current location rather than the GPS that was contained within the photo. I have confirmed that the photos do indeed contain the information. Am I going crazy or was this not always the case?

I can replicate. This looks new.

Yup, same problem.

Also, cannot any longer select multiple photos to upload to an observation at once.

Glad I’m not the only one. My iPhone app also uses the current gps location and not photo location metadata. I am also now only able to upload one photo at a time using the iPhone app. Any idea what’s going on?

The metadata issue is a bug and I’ve filed a report for it for our iOS developer. The lack of multi-image selection is a way to get around the current photo import crash, so it’s not a bug but a temporary issue related to the crash fix. You can still add multiple photos to a single observation, but they must be added one at a time.

This was fixed some time ago.
