Can only upload one photo at a time to observations in mobile app

Platform : ios

App version number: 2.8.7

Step 1: select observe

Step 2: select camera roll

Step 3: choose first photo

Step 4: app instantly takes me to “retake or next” screen

Step 5: select “next”

Step 6: tap add more photos

I used to be able to add at least 4 photos at a time, but since a few months ago, I can only upload one at a time. Is this a bug, or was this done on purpose? If I could upload more photos at a time that would make adding observations quicker.

I have been going to gallery selecting all the photos there, then sharing them to iNat. Works well.
