Is there a way to install older version of the app?

The last version of the Android app is messed up, is there a way to install some older one and keep it from updating?

If you find the apk with the version you want somewhere (there are various repositories, but be aware of possible malware), then you can install the apk after enabling installation from external sources.

I agree with @pisum that the issue stems from Android OS. But, for anyone interested, you can download APK files from iNat’s GitHub page: https://github.com/inaturalist/iNaturalistAndroid/releases
