I’m trying to resolve some of the mammal taxa with unresolved relationships. The 2019 Mammal Diversity Database (MDD) is the current framework used. I’m looking at Chibchanomys orcesi Las Cajas Water Mouse (Chibchanomys orcesi) · iNaturalist. In the 2019 database it was included as Chibchanomys orcesi, but in the most recent 2024 database it was moved to the genus Neusticomys. Additionally, I saw the species Sciurus brasiliensis referenced to the MDD as a match, but S. brasiliensis is not in the 2019 MDD; it is in the 2024 MDD though. Which version of the MDD should I use?
