When trying to use the explore tab to help with other peoples identifications, I end up getting stuck within hundreds of my own observations. I’ll zoom out even further, to multiple states, and after just a few scrolls I’m back to viewing my own observations again.
Is there a way to turn off your own observations to yourself on the explore tab? Or do I just have to keep scrolling for multiple minutes to surpass my own observations? It seems very counter intuitive to have to skip past your own uploads when trying to help the community around you. I hope there’s some type of setting I can change to fix this issue.
You can add ¬_user_id=tylerthebugcatcher to the URL in the address bar.
Edit: Sorry I didn’t see the ios-class-app tag. But this is how you’d do it on the website (which is definitely the superior experience for adding identifications).
If you go into identify mode (choose “identify” in the menu bar on website), it will automatically exclude your observations. This tutorial shows how to do that and a LOT of other shortcuts and tips for identifying. Check it out!
Thank you both so much! I don’t have a computer so I am limited to my phone for now and sometimes the website is a little difficult to navigate on the browser on my phone. I will try using the site and doing the suggestions you gave me. I appreciate yall a ton!
