I was listening to Unexpected Elements, which frequently travels interesting tangents, when they gave a nice mention to iNaturalist at around 10 minutes.

They consistently said “plants and animals”, “animals and plants” or similar. That only accounts for 91.6% of observations.

Weeelll, iNat is all about learning about biodiversity so maybe we can all help them with that.

I guess that didn’t register at 3 AM. However, I am amazed at the number of people about who bird watch, bug watch, enjoy the spring flowers, etc. who do not know about iNat, so in my opinion getting the word out there doesn’t hurt. If I recall she did mention it was a free app, which is one of the questions folks ask me when I tell them about it.
