Not getting tags

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Firefox

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages:

Description of problem: I didn’t get notifications for either of these tags. I found them because I clicked on the notification of the comment. Both are from the same user, and while he capitalizes my name, when I click on it, it does go to my profile. Is the problem the capitalization, or a bug?

I’m pretty sure that users have tagged by capitalizing my before, and I think I got those? But I won’t swear to that.

I didn’t make a report for this because I thought I might have just missed it in the pile, but considering that this tag is from the same user, I thought I’d add it

And just to tie these together, could this be related to these notifications that I wasn’t getting? Interestingly, this flag was made by the same user.

So I don’t know if it’s a bug on my end or his, or if there’s an easy explanation (like the capitalization).

Not sure, but one possibility is that you might have muted the user at some point? Something to rule out at least.

How do I tag someone?
I use the iPhone app as well as the iNaturalist website via Safari on my iPhone.

and what does that mean exactly? Will the person in question get a mail or notification?

No, I didn’t mute him: I get all of the notifications that come in from ID’s he makes on things I ID’d, and this morning I sent him a DM to try tagging me to see if I don’t get them (those worked so far). We also have collaborated quite a bit on region ID’s.

In a comment on an observation or journal post put @neylon (replace my name with who you want to reach) and it sends them a notification to look.

We might have solved it. He sent me two tags, one with my name capitalized, one lower case. I didn’t get the capitalized one. Strangely though if you click on either version, it goes to my profile page.
