Observation grid view update

I like the new clean observation grid view for My Observations:

Compared to the cluttered view we still have in Explore:

I’m trying to think if there is any information in the icons on Explore that I would miss. I do like seeing the scientific name and common name, but I suspect many people would like to see just one especially when the trade off is seeing more of the thumbnail. Could the that potentially be managed by preference?

What to other people think?

Personally I think grid view should be for emphasizing pictures and thus should have the bare minimum of overlays. If people want more info, they can switch to list view. They serve different purposes and I think those differences can be leaned into rather than trying to combine them.
