There’s one observation https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/64034065 that shows up in id tab but no matter how many times I mark it as reviewed it’s getting back again, I know usually when user is blocked their observations can still be accessed, in this example observation page is not working, so maybe it’s a bug this observation is shown at all?
The observation shows up in Identify, you can check “reviewed” but it reappears immediately upon refreshing the page. Clicking the observation view link takes you to “This user was suspended” instead of an observation. Usually observations from suspended users are either still accessible, or deleted entirely, but this one seems stuck in limbo.
By blocked do you mean suspended? I don’t have anyone blocked but I’m not having this problem. I review it and it goes away. Different because I’m a curator and can see suspended users?
@zdanko Still behaves the same way for me. You’re a curator, right? I think think this bug probably only effects non-curator accounts, since we can’t access suspended account info and you can.
I tried it out. Opened observation in identify module. Clicked view but got page indicating user was suspended. Hit back button in browser which brought me back to the identify module. Marked as reviewed then closed module. Thumbnail showed as reviewed. Refreshed page. Thumbnail now shows as not reviewed.
Well, their observations are still in the database and would be working normally, if not for this bug. Observations of suspended users don’t go anywhere.
Suspended users can be suspended for reasons other than data quality. So unless there’s something wrong with the actual observations, the observations of a suspended user are publicly available and are the same as any other observation.
