Observation visible on Identify page

Description of problem:

Bug 1: When I search for observations of this taxon in Michigan, this observation shows up. Similarly, it shows up on the Identify page when I filter for observations of this taxon in Michigan.

But the observation page is totally blank! (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/3310334)

Bug 2: When clicking through observations on the Identify page, this observation causes the page to go blank.

I can verify in Chrome and Firefox on Windows 10.

That’s a weird one - the standard info all seems to be there via
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/3310334.json

it looks like Identification 6333853 by the observer points to a taxon 119801 which does not exist in the system. the page expects to always be able to find a taxon with an identification. so in this case, it doesn’t know what to do.

interestingly, the v1 API response (https://api.inaturalist.org/v1/observations?id=3310334) has a slightly different set of identification data than the response of the old API that cthawley is looking at.

i could try to update the observation via the API to see if that makes a difference, but i’ll wait for the others to troubleshoot this before attempting that. it’s really old data. so it could just be that something was wrong back in the day that has been resolved since.

I let our devs know about it.

It’s been fixed. We’re not sure how the taxon got into this state, though.
