For the last few weeks I have been thinking about possibly engaging in a small informal project next year that tracks random marked individual wild plants over their entire growing cycle.
More specifically, my goals for this project are to 1) track how specific plant traits used for identification change as the plant matures and 2) create verified or verifiable photos of young plants and seedlings that would otherwise not be identifiable (especially for plant groups that usually require mature flowering plants for identification, as an example).
This would require taking observations of the same plant once or twice per week. Is this sort of practice permitted here on iNaturalist? These observations would be placed in a traditional project, allowing for identifiers to filter them out entirely if desired.
