I have created a Place using a KML file which is being used by a Bio Blitz project but when i try to upload photos the place it is not listed under Location. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

If I go to More/Places then it does show.
The place is “Nong Maka Forest, SH, TH”
I am not sure what this means.

Do you want the locality notes to autopopulate with your place?
It is normal. The “Location” bar consists only of localities populated by Google. Only the “Places” bar have the localities created by iNaturalist users.
