Project based on new place is empty

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: I created a new place by uploading a KML i exported using Quick-OSM in QGIS (https://www.inaturalist.org/places/europaschutzgebiet-klostertaler-bergwaelder)

Step 2: I created a project for this new place (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/biodiversitaet-im-europaschutzgebiet-klostertaler-bergwaelder)

Step 3: The project shows no observations, although many things have been observed in that area.This query shows observations: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=192125&quality_grade=research,needs_id&subview=map&verifiable=any

It takes some time to load observations in a new place. Now it shows

However, note that your project area is quite narrow and stretched, with many observations close to the project borders.
Many observations with slightly incorrect coordinates or a too large uncertainty radius might thus not be included in your project although they would qualify. You could generate a larger area in addition and combine them in an umbrella project to get more observations
