Description of need:
Currently, the about page only shows whether a species is included in the computer vision model, or if it is pending addition. However, ‘pending’ can be somewhat vague, including species with only 1 observation, or even no observations at all, all the way to ones with 99 or more observations being considered for the CV model. A 3rd category would be a nice QOL change.
Feature request details:
Change the function of the current ‘pending’ category for species not yet included in the model but which have enough observations and photographs that they will be included soon (within a month or two). Add a new category ‘not included’ species that are not close to being added.
Anything that is Pending, you can see how many obs - and judge for yourself how soon it might achieve Included. Now updated with new species approx monthly.
Ah thats unfortunate. Thanks for linking that post! I had searched the feature request posts to see if it had been posted before but couldn’t find anything.
Maybe it is possible to store the first and last time the CV-model suggested a taxon. So the date is not filled when the model is implementend when the model is taken into service but then the CV-model suggests this taxon and the suggestion is used. When the label ‘’’ id is done with help with AI"-badge is added.

I’m going to close. There are multiple factors used to determine when a taxon will be included it the next training run, and those may change over time as we tweak them. Keeping that updating for this feature seems like more work than it would be worth. You can get a sense of a taxon’s potentially imminent inclusion by looking at its observations.
