Not sure if this is the right bucket, but can I suggest an iNat staffer replace the text on the old google group to indicate it is closed, and provide a link to here.

It hasn’t been closed yet, that probably won’t happen until next week.

relatedly, we should consider making the link on iNat say something other than ‘feedback’. To me that implies a link to an email address or something, which one wouldn’t click unless they have a problem. I think linking it as ‘forum’ will get a broader group of people, which is a goal that was mentioned and seems like a good one.
Better yet maybe even link it in the ‘community’ pulldown up top.
