Save an observation without sharing?

Hello, Is there a way to save the observation without sharing it so I can go home and look at my guide books and try to identify the item myself?

Hi @gardenflyer, welcome to the iNat forum! It looks like you’re using an iOS device, so in the app, click “Me” in the bottom right corner, then the “gear” icon in the top right corner. In your settings there, you can turn off “Automatic upload”. Now you can make observations with the app that won’t upload immediately. Once you’re ready to upload, you can press the cloud+arrow icon that says “Upload”.
