Single QR Code/Link for Account Creation AND Project Redirect?

Hi everyone,

I am currently building marketing material for a Bioblitz project and I am looking for a smooth onboarding workflow for new participants via a single QR code.

The ideal flow would be: A user scans the QR code → creates a new iNaturalist account → and is then automatically redirected to our specific project page.

The main goal is to prevent the user from having to manually search for the project after the registration process, and I want to avoid using two separate QR codes/links (one for signup, one for the project). Furthermore, this workflow needs to be completely platform-independent, meaning it has to work reliably across PC web browsers, the iOS App, the Android App, and the Classic App.

Does anyone know if there is a specific URL structure or deep link that supports this kind of seamless post-registration redirect (or is it in by default)? How do you usually handle this onboarding process for your local events to not lose people along the way?

the way i would handle this is to create a journal post for the project, and then create a QR code for the post’s URL. the journal post would contain all the relevant notes and links that i want to provide for my users (ex. links to all the different apps, the signup page, etc.).
