Sunlan sound recorder is hung

I have a Sunlan voice recorder; I don’t see a model number. This morning at 3 (7 UTC) I plugged it into the USB port of my keyboard, copied two recordings, and uploaded one which I made 12 hours earlier (on the other, I couldn’t find what I recorded). During this process, it displays an icon consisting of a box of some sort and a computer monitor, each with three dots going to a common point in space, and a battery icon in the corner. When I unplug it, it’s supposed to turn itself off. It didn’t. I tried the power slideswitch and the other buttons and such; nothing happened. The backlight is on; in normal operation it turns off after most of a minute. Is there a way to fix it besides waiting for it to drain its battery, and how long does this take?

I woke up a little ago and found it turned off. I plugged it in to the USB port, and it said “WELCOME”, followed by the same icon but with the battery icon showing that it’s charging. lsusb shows that it’s accessible. I’m going to leave it charging for a few hours.

I made two observations after charging:

The first had the completely wrong date (apparently it resets to March 1 because leap day is in February), the second the wrong time zone.
