Sparrows. While I may have grown up with sparrows I don’t live in an area where they are present.
So I am currently in Spain and have realized there are 3 main species of sparrow and am taking photos of every Passer bird just in case I get a Spanish sparrow. And if anyone else wants to learn about the subtleties of Sparrow IDs, Sparrow ID is quite useful.

I do find it kind of interesting growing up in NZ the European House Sparrow and Dunnock is basically everywhere, and both pretty common to see. Everyone knows house sparrows, yet almost nobody who isnt a birder knows dunnocks. When I have pointed them out, people just assumed they were sparrows.
