Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):
NOTE: these steps are only available to Curators.
Step 1: Pick a taxon and select Edit Taxon
Step 2: select Add a taxon swap if you want to change the name. A New Taxonomic Change (Draft) page opens, pre-populated with the taxon being edited as the Input Taxon, and the change type Swap. (example here – but please don’t save anything, there is already a draft for this taxon)
Step 3: change type from Swap to Split. Pre-populated taxon moves from Input Taxon to Output Taxon. (Expected behavior: should remain as Input Taxon.) Change type back to Swap, taxon moves back to Input Taxon.
Step 4: change type from Swap to Drop. Pre-populated taxon becomes blank. (Expected behavior: pre-populated Input Taxon should remain.) Change type back to Swap, Input Taxon reappears.
Other type changes behave as expected.
Work-around: just manually re-populate the appropriate input and output taxa. But pre-population is nicer when it works right…
