Legolas1 answered the questions almost immediately when I uploaded them. But he can’t open them either. I can’t delete them either. It can’t be because of the pictures. I sent them a 2nd time and there was no problem …
so that points to an indexing problem. the fact that another user was able to see these observations (to add identifications) but then later these observations could not be queried from the API means that the observaiton was created and saved to the database, and it must have been indexed correctly initially. but then – presumably after the identifications were added – the observations were no longer indexed.
staff probably needs to examine their logs to see what may have happened here. these are the remaining two observations that still are not indexed correctly:
the second observation in this list has the same subject, photo, and other details as the observation that i fixed. it’s not clear why @ruebezahl added this twice (the second one above an hour later). it’s possible this is related to the problem, but i’m not sure.
It may be that I didn’t explain it exactly. I uploaded the observation a second time because the first entry was no longer available. But I had seen that it had already been answered. I then asked the user who gave the answer if he could open the observation. But he couldn’t open it either. I used the same photo for both requests, but the later request is independent from the first … I really can’t explain it in more detail.
