Website is slow - profiler shows API taking a long time

Hi. I’m getting reports from a number of iNaturalist Discord community members around the world that the iNaturalist website is slow for them over the past half hour. In this performance profile screenshot, it seems the API is handling requests very slowly right now, with a single API request to fetch one observation taking over 50 seconds to complete:

Extremely slow here in southern Ontario, Canada.
